Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 July 2026

The Broker House ("we", "us") arranges property and business finance for UK clients. This policy explains what personal data we collect through thebrokerhouse.co.uk, our enquiry forms and our client portal, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO registration ZB997854).

What we collect

  • Enquiry details - name, phone number, email, and the information you give us about your business or property (turnover, outstanding invoices, property values, loan requirements).
  • Company information - if you select your company in our forms, we look it up on the public companies register (name, number, status, registered address).
  • Portal data - if your adviser opens a client portal for you: the documents you upload, your application answers, and your assets & liabilities details.
  • Usage data - pages visited and actions taken on our site, collected via analytics cookies and advertising pixels, plus campaign tags (UTM parameters) that tell us which ad brought you here.

Why we use it

  • To respond to your enquiry, qualify it and match you with suitable lenders - this is our legitimate interest as a broker, and, once you engage us, preparation of a contract.
  • To progress your application: sharing relevant details with the lender(s) you agree to be introduced to.
  • To operate the client portal, including secure document storage and virus scanning of uploads.
  • To measure and improve our marketing (analytics and advertising cookies - used only with your consent where required).
  • To meet our legal and regulatory obligations, including anti-money-laundering checks where applicable.

Who we share it with

We share your data with: the lenders we introduce you to (only with your knowledge); our CRM and communications provider; our cloud hosting provider (data stored in the UK/EU); our email delivery provider; and our analytics and advertising platforms as described above. We never sell your personal data.

How long we keep it

Enquiry records are kept for up to 2 years from last contact. Client files - where we have arranged finance - are kept for 6 years after the relationship ends, in line with regulatory expectations. Portal documents are deleted on request once no longer needed for an active application.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to: access the data we hold on you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and port it elsewhere. Where we rely on consent (e.g. marketing cookies) you can withdraw it at any time. To exercise any right, email privacy@thebrokerhouse.co.uk or call 020 3861 3469. You can also complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

Essential cookies keep the site and portal working (e.g. sign-in sessions). Analytics and advertising cookies are used to understand how the site is used and to measure our campaigns. You can block cookies in your browser settings; essential ones are required for the portal to function.
